News For Immediate Release

SOC118 Press Release

At the Sociology 118 Press Conference, Thursday 1/24/08, Governor Erica Huckabee was asked about her views on Stem cell research, saying that she does not believe it to be an acceptable method of doing research.
She says, “With all the technology we have today, we can find something better than Stem Cell Research.”
She goes on to talk about the need for investment in preventative medicine. For example, we can prevent diseases such as diabetes by eating right.
She was also asked about her concern over special interest groups and their disagreement with tax cuts.
She says, “special interest groups don’t always have the best intentions for the American people.” She declares that she is for the people and plans to keep that as her top priority.
