Today, January 10, 2008, Mike Huckabee, former Governor of Arkansas, announced his decision to enter the race for Presidency of the United States of America as a Republican Candidate. His enthusiasm to stop being divided and share one patriotism was received warmly by University of California, Davis students in Sociology 118.In his speech, he declared that, “It’s time to stop looking to the left and to the right. It’s time to start looking up and decide who can uplift this country!”Issues he addressed were health system reform, education reform, tax cuts and energy independence. He stated, “It’s time that this great nation of ours starts paying attention to the education of its children and the trials of good, hard-working Americans.”
